The Purpose of the Program
The purpose of the Associate Degree Unmanned Vehicle Technician Program is to provide foundational knowledge and skills necessary for understanding unmanned vehicle systems, including unmanned aerial, ground, and maritime vehicles. The program covers the history, missions, capabilities, types, configurations, subsystems, and the development and operation of Unmanned Vehicle Systems. This program prepares students to understand and apply the functionality of unmanned vehicles. It equips them with the ability to manage information systems using image processing, data collection and analysis, communication systems, autonomous systems, advanced sensor and imaging technologies, embedded systems, advanced programming, and algorithms. Students will also learn to design unmanned vehicle systems and conduct project and field applications in these areas, preparing them for a career in this field.

Unmanned Vehicle Systems Design and Autonomization: Students will learn to describe common types, missions, and roles of unmanned vehicle systems. They will identify and list the common subsystems and technologies used. They will also learn to add and develop autonomous features in unmanned vehicles and understand the various types of sensors used.

Automation of Robotic Systems: Students will be able to design the basic components of robotic systems and develop their automation.

Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence: Students will understand the basic concepts and techniques in artificial intelligence and can perform data analysis and decision-making processes using AI methods necessary for unmanned vehicle systems.

Programming Skills: Students will learn to use programming tools to model unmanned systems. They will explain the approaches and technologies used to create human/machine interfaces.
